This paper was selected as one of the Top Three Papers in the Popular Communication Division at the 2009 ICA Conference in Chicago. The paper discusses how the media industry is co-opting activity audience behaviors with online media technologies for their own marketing purposes; this includes the utilization of virtual worlds for furthering the consumer loyalty and brand recognition.
The virtual worlds research group recently participated in the second MetaverseU conference at Stanford University, CA. The goal of this years conference was to explore the cutting edge applications of virtual worlds and the open platforms that drive them.
